Friday Triad (on a Sunday): Inspired by @kt_tk1

So two days ago it was time for our Triad post, but due to my work scheduling changing, working multiple public holidays and three weekends in a row, I didn't have time for nails. I actually went naked for 3 days!! I can honestly say that was three pretty bad days. We had to do PPE training at work, how to don and doff face masks, face visors and how to properly sanitize our hands. And sanitizing my hands 4 times in a row, actually lifted my polish... That's one of the reasons I stopped wearing my engagement ring weeks ago. I don't even want to know what the over exposure to different kinds of sanitizers would do to the integrity of my ring.

Anyway, Joyce and Michelle was super understanding and allowed delaying the post by two days. It was my turn to choose our inspiration and I chose this manicure done by @kt_tk1. Let me show you what I did.

I started with two coats of Fair Maiden Polish vintage romance on my thumb and index finger. On my middle finger I have a coat of Tip Top pink lemonade. On my ring finger and pinky I have two coats of Catrice oyster and champagne.
I then stamped an image from Moyou fashionista 11 with Nicole Diary white on my middle finger. I actually like that I managed to pick up the gold in oyster and champagne. Normally it just looks slightly pink in photos.
What do you think? I kinda like how it turned out. I wish I had more time for nails... I'm actually behind with the 52weeknailchallenge and I don't mean with just posting. Normally I have time to do 3 mani's in the space of two weeks. That way I stay slightly ahead, now I only have time once maybe twice in a two week period. Which is very depressing for me. Doing my nails is essential ME time. I always feel better with a new mani.
Don't forget to check what Michelle and Joyce did with my inspiration.

#52weeknailchallenge: half moon

I always feel at a bit of a loss with this prompt... And since my one is late as usual, I've seen some very pretty ones pop up on Instagram. I had a rough idea of what I wanted to do for my one... But I'm not sure about how it ended up.

Let me show you what I did... I started with two coats of China Glaze flying dragon on my thumb and index finger. On my middle and ring finger I have two coats of Tip Top bare with me. On my pinky I have two coats of Hean 856 sugar.
I then stamped an image from Lina make your mark 1 with Nicole Diary NS05 at my cuticle. I then stamped another image from Lina twirls and swirls with Nicole Diary white.
What do you think? Flying dragon ended up darker than I expected, but the blue flecks in it is gorgeous. I'm also having some trouble with my pictures. I got a new phone recently and I'm not used to the camera yet... So for the next couple of posts the colour will be slightly off until I get it right. Any tips?
The next post's pictures was still done with my previous phone, so those will be normal.

#52weeknailchallenge: nude

I did something very simple for this prompt and I absolutely loved wearing it. It's definitely not something I would normally wear. Let me show you what I did.

I started with two coats of Tip Top bare with me.
I then added two coats of Ulta frosted on my middle and ring finger.
Added a decal to my ring finger and a dot of Ulta3 black satin on my pinky and thumb.
And that's that. super easy.
What do you think?

Friday Triad: Inspired by @manicure.d

Time for the monthly Triad post. This month it was my turn to choose the inspiration, so I went with this mani by @manicure.d. I just loved the look of the metallic with the marble. I know some people (eyes Joyce) was a little daunted by the fact that actual watermarbling was involved in achieving the look. Let me show you what I did.

I started with two coats of China Glaze swatch out! on my ring finger. On my thumb, index, middle finger and pinky I started with a coat of Tip Top perfect look. I then stamped an image from Lina @tanya_wish collab with Nicole Diary black.
I added another coat of perfect look. Once that was dry I stamped another marble looking image from Lina make your mark 8 with Mundo de Unas light grey. I then added another stamp from Lina @kombucha_witch collab with BPS gold.
I top coated and waited for it to dry as I was going to use vinyls. I used half moon vinyls from TwinkledT and painted a coat of swatch out! in the area between the vinyl and my cuticle, removing the vinyl immediately.
So I really enjoyed this. I was considering adding another layer to it, but decided against it. I like how the black is darker in some areas. What do you think? Don't forget to head on over to Michelle and Joyce and see what they did. I'm not even going to hazard any guesses as to what they may have done. They've been surprising me lately.

#52weeknailchallenge: Halloween

Here it is, the first Halloween mani for the year... On one hand I'm kinda bummed that it's not a big thing here, but on the other hand I don't see myself ever dressing up in a costume. At least I can have it on my nails though.

I started with two coats of my early Christmas present from @tehillaleah, ninezero Clover on my thumb, index and pinky. On my middle and ring finger I have two coats of Tip Top cool as a cucumber.
On my middle and ring fingers I have a stamped image from Lina Make your mark 8, stamped with Mundo de Unas reddish and coloured in with I love Hean 870.
I sure had a lot of people ask me why I have socks on my nails....  Until they looked closer of course.
Clover is absolutely stunning and I think Heather made a great choice. What do you think? Does it match my zombie feet or not? Probably not....

#52weeknailchallenge: metallic

Okay... So this prompt... Lots of hate for this one! I did this one 3 times!! Because I wasn't happy with it, at all! So I'm going to show all three and you choose a favourite.

First up...
I started with two coats of China Glaze I'll sand by you. I then stamped a wood grain image from Lina Autumn 1 with China Glaze swatch out! The butterflies are from Lina opposites attract and stamped with Nicole Diary white. The wood grain is supposed to be the metallic part, but it's not super obvious.

Secondly...
Here I started with three coats of Essie muchi, muchi on all my nails. I then stamped a floral image from Lina let's doodle 3 with Essence pink dreams are made if this. I then stamped another image over that on my middle and ring finger from Lina opposites attract with Rimmel rock the metal. Here both stamped images are metallic, but again not super obvious.

Lastly...
This was totally inspired by a previous Triad post. I have two coats of China Glaze swatch out! on my thumb, ring finger and pinky. On my index and middle finger I did a gradient with Tip Top dunes of desire, toasted nuts and bare with me. On my ring finger I used some Diagonal alley vinyls from becauseishop and coloured it in, in order of the gradient.

What do you think? Which one is your favourite? To be honest I like them all, they just failed at the prompt!

#52weeknailchallenge: country

I didn't have any set ideas when I started with this mani, because I didn't know what country to do, or do I just do 'country side', which is not quite the same. So I settled for a little of both. Let me show you what I did.

I started with a coat of essence shade of happiness, not worrying about opacity as I was going to do a gradient over. For that I used shade of happiness and Tip Top cherries in the snow.
I then stamped an image from BP-16 with Nicole Diary black.
On my thumb I have a zebra that is also from BP-16 and coloured in with Hean City Fashion white.
When I showed the Fiancé, he told me it's boring as I chose my own country... Which I obviously disagree, it might have been slightly predictable, but there is nowhere else in the world that people believe we have lions roaming the streets. Now wouldn't that be awesome. What do you think?

Friday Triad: Inspired by Juli

It's that time of the month again for Triad!!

This month was my turn to choose our inspiration and I went with this one done by @juli_addicted. It seemed simple enough until my lines seemed to straight and then too wonky and then the top coat ate my decal. So fun and games. Let me show you how this turned out.

I started with essence shade of happiness at my cuticle then Tip Top cha cha cha then Omega stormy weather and then another line of cha cha cha.
I tried to not have my lines too even and in the immense concentration of getting the lines uneven I forgot to alternate my colours! So we have a rather uniform manicure here.
Once my base was dry I added my decals and then used my smallest dotting tool to make the dots with Ulta3 black satin. I'm not sure if I should have gone with less dots or not. And then of course my top coat ate my decal!
All in all I'm kinda happy with how this turned out. What do you think? Don't forget to check out what my two partners in crime did! I'm certain Michelle and Joyce knocked this out the park! As they normally do.

#52weeknailchallenge: paisley

This is one of those prompts where it looked better in my head. It's not a total fail, but it didn't turn out the way I wanted. Let me show you what I did.

I started with two coats of ILNP Mega (L) on all my nails except my pinky which I sponged on some Tip Top snow capped.
I then added some paisley decals. I knew the decals weren't opaque and that's why I opted for a light  and a holo base. I was hoping the holo would show through the decal.
Which it sort of does, but not as intensely as I imagined. And it was only obvious in certain light.
What do you think? It's still pretty, but I had higher expectations.
Thanks for stopping by!

#52weeknailchallenge: purple and silver

I was stumped with this prompt. I didn't have any ideas and there was a definite lack of inspiration. Even after browsing pinterest I was still not feeling this prompt. Eventually something clicked and I had something to work with. Let me show you what I did.

I started with two coats of Essence prom-berry on my thumb and index, two coats of Tip Top fairy dust on my middle and ring finger and I sponged on Tip Top snow capped on my pinky.
I then stamped some random images from Lina Feeling Shapely 9 with prom-berry and Rimmel rock the metal.
I'm somewhat chuffed with how this turned out. I never know when is enough and I'm hoping I didn't overdo this. What do you think?
