#PPSAnailchallenge: Dark & Vampy

I can't believe how this month has flown by. I mean this is the second last prompt for the PPSA nail challenge.

This post was originally supposed to be my mani for the Red prompt, but I decided to use it for this prompt. I mean it seems more dark than red...

I started with two coats of Tip Top Cherries in the Snow.
Once that was dry I started a gradient using Cherries in the Snow and SC Black on Black.
I alternated the gradient on my ring finger and stamped with Black on Black and using plate BP-L003, the second image on the top row.
I had another mani in mind for this prompt, but this one will do. I wish the gradient on my thumb blended a bit more. Anyway, what do you think?

#PPSAnailchallenge: Your favourite Villain

I am so happy it's almost weekend, you won't believe. I've had the crappiest week and I can't wait for it to end!

This prompt is the one I was dreading the most. I mean whoever thought of this one should actually just have their picture up. Because, You Are EVIL.

This one had me stumped. BF was even trying to be helpful and pointed at his rather annoyingly big PS3 and PS4 game collection and was like "Pick one and draw it." And I'm like, Dude, I CAN'T DRAW TO SAVE MY LIFE. So not helping.

I eventually did pick something, but it might require some explaining. Glitter.
I mean we all LOVE glitter. It's so pretty and shiny and oooooh. But man, what a SOB to take off. Even with the foil method there's always some piece that is securely stuck on and won't budge

So I'm pretty sure we shy away from wearing glitter, because I do. Therefor glitter is my favourite villain.
I had to sponge the glitter on as it wasn't very dense. From thumb to pinky, I sponged on Pot of Gold, Disco Fever, Over the Rainbow, New Years Eve and Luck of the Irish from Ulta3. This was from the advent calender BF's mom got me for Christmas last year.
Such a lot of people commented on this. It was actually quite strange.

So does my interpretation of my favourite villain makes sense? I hope it does. Maybe the other ladies' work will make more sense, so don't forget to have a look.

#PPSAnailchallenge: Go wild with Dots

I  am really loving being part of the PPSA nail challenge, it's fun to see the different interpretations of the various prompts. However, I am missing posting my own posts. You know the ones that aren't challenge related. I have two posts that's been sitting in drafts for about a month now. I have gotten into the routine of posting on Mondays and Thursdays. And since I'm not always able to do my nails, I at least want to have a back up post in case I couldn't get to it. Hence, me not posting more often... But soon, you shall see the "older" art. For now, here is Dots...

I was actually very excited about this one, once I had figured out what I wanted to do. Michelle did this pond manicure last year and ever since then I've been wanting to do my own... And it's taken me this long to finally do it.
I started with one coat of Tip Top Perfect Look (similar to Cream Puff). Once that was dry, I went "wild" with my dots. I can't quite remember what colours went on the first or second coat of Perfect Look.
For the dots I used the Tip Top Neon range. Salsa Pop (orange), Walking on Sunshine (yellow), As the Beat Grows on (green), Cyan Can Can (blue), Grape Dance (purple) and Sexy Bikini (pink).
I do remember that I had painted 3 coats of Perfect Look by the time I was done and that Walking on Sunshine was on the last coat.
I totally loved how this turned out! It looked so edible! Like the Milkybar with Jelly Tots in it. Haha and I don't even like Milkybar.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the Dotty manicures.

#PPSAnailchallenge: Purple & twinsie post with Michelle

It's Twinsie post day!! And purple for the PPSA nail challenge. Michelle and I decided to double up today, because I wasn't too sure if I'd be able to manage a post for the challenge and for twinsies.

Michelle did a comparison earlier this year between Tip Top Fairy Dust, Broken Soul, Surfer Girl and Lady Lilla. And the first three made a perfect gradient. So, since then I've been dying to do a proper gradient with these three polishes.

I started with two coats of Fairy Dust and while I was waiting for that to dry, I painted Simply Peel around my nails for easy cleanup after. Look at the pretty glitter!!
Once everything was dry, I started with my gradient. On my ring finger I did it the other way round, with Surfer Girl at the edge of my nail. It's not super obvious in the pictures, but it leaves such a pretty shimmer.
Once my gradient was dry, I stamped with Tip Top Purple Reign using plate BP-L003 on all my fingers except my ring finger.
What do you think of my gradient? Can't wait to see Michelle's work. And since it's part of the challenge don't forget to check out the rest of the purple mani's!

#PPSAnailchallenge: Traffic

Uhm, yes, traffic... Who ever thought that traffic would ever make it's way into the nail art world? Seriously, who thought of the prompt traffic?

For this one I completely cheated. How else?

I bought these decals from BPS some time ago and they have always ended up on my mother's toes for some reason. But today they are finally making it to my fingers. It came on a big sheet, so I had more than one design to choose from.
So, traffic, road map, same thing!
It wasn't as easy as you would have thought though. Obviously the decals didn't fit my nails properly, so there is some folds and for some reason I ended up with the top coat making holes! Oh well, let's just say it was an old holey map. Hahaha
How do you like my cheating? I'd love to see what the other ladies came up with, so do check out their interpretation of traffic.

#PPSAnailchallenge: Pink

I am at a total loss of words at the moment... Do I mention the weather? Because it's freaking cold! Or do I just jump straight to the second prompt for this week? Ah, let's just jump.

This week's second prompt is pink. Thanks Michelle! Pink? How, what, WHY?! I'm not really a pink person... I know, shock and horror, right? I had a couple of ideas for this one, but obviously, which idea do I choose that I won't totally suck at.

So, as always, I took the easy way out. LoL, no not really, but this was very easy. I started with two coats of Tip Top Toasted Nuts on all my fingers, except my ring finger. My ring finger is sporting two coats of Tip Top Sexy Bikini.
Just look at that pink! Sooo pretty.... Yes, just because I'm not a fan of pink doesn't mean I can't appreciate a pretty polish. And it's all about the polish anyway.

I then added some neon splatter decals to my thumb, index and middle finger. You can find the decals here, it's a big sheet with different designs.
The only problem I had, is that there was only 6 pink splatters. Why only 6? And why 6? I have 5 fingers... Anyway, that's why my pinky has a different decal than the rest.
So, what do you think of my not so pink mani? Do check out what the other ladies did... I'm sure Michelle is going to nail it. Actually, she better, she chose it. Check out the other ladies' mani's.

#PPSAnailchallenge: Sugar Spun

I hope everyone had a good weekend. And good luck for the week ahead, because I know I need it.

The third prompt for the PPSA nail challenge is Sugar Spun. This is something that I have done recently so I wasn't too worried about it.

I started with two coats of Essence Prom-Berry.
Once that was dry, I used an old green polish I bought years ago from Foschini. It's so old that it wasn't even necessary to wait for the polish to go tacky... It was already good to go. I think the name is Yes, other than that it may be #19.
I actually liked how these turned out more than my previous attempt that you can find here.

#PPSAnailchallenge: Red

I'm seriously loving our weather at the moment. It's been raining for the past two days, it's cold and miserable and I love it!! The only problem I have, is that it's wreaking havoc with my pics! I don't have a lightbox, so I just take my pics by the window, but with it being overcast all the time they don't look too great...

Anyway, on to the second post for the PPSA nail challenge. Red, just red, how difficult can that be? I actually had a different idea in mind for this one, but I'll show you that one some other time... Like later in the challenge!

BF went to a Gaming Expo in Town over the weekend and was so sweet to bring something back for me.
Hehe just a small canvas and it looks awesome. And somehow this ended up being the inspiration for this prompt. So, I started with two coats of Tip Top Cherries on my thumb, middle finger and pinky. On my index and ring finger I have one coat of SC Snow me White.
The drips on my index and splatter on my ring is from plate BP-L004, I stamped using Cherries in the Snow. To make the splatter look a bit more faded I painted two coats of Tip Top Perfect Look. Once that was dry, I top coated everything.
Like really? Seche smeared my drips!! I haven't been feeling great this week, so I was not in the mood to redo it. Not that I would have anyway! Hahaha The skull is from plate BP-L006. I left it on the stamper to tape off the cross bones and then stamped it. I kinda like it. Some have mentioned to me that the skull isn't super obvious and that I should have done it differently, but hey, I'd like to see them try it.

Oh and here is the prompts again if you wanna follow or join.
