Friday Triad: Inspired by Olivia Jade Nails

First off... Happy bday to me!! I'll be having loads of fun today. NOT. I am working the whole day long. Whole day.

Anyway, so it's time for our Friday Triad with Michelle and Joyce. Today's post was chosen by Michelle and the inspiration comes from this post, the fourth mani.

So I was torn on what stamping plate I wanted to use and what image. I had a few to choose from, but I decided in the end to go with my original idea. So I settled for HeHe 63. I started with two coats of I love Hean 891 from the neon collection on my pinky and thumb. On my index, middle and ring finger I have two coats of Hean City Fashion white.
Once that was dry, I stamped using essence stampy polish in black and stamped the big flower design. I top coated that to not smear the stamp. I then used Hean 223 (lethal lemonade) from the summer collection for the centre of the flower. And Tip Top sexy bikini for the rest. I watered the polish down with some Seche Restore, which I think I should have used a little more...
BF asked me if it had to look like someone coloured it in with highlighters... I wish I could have punched him. I should have punched him.
So what do you think? To be honest I didn't even read the blog post for this. I just took inspiration from the picture, but I have actually read it when I went back to get the links.

Thanks for reading!

#52weeknailchallenge: inspired by a photo tutorial

For this prompt, I opened Google, typed in "photo tutorial nail art", and scrolled through the images until I found one I liked. And it happened to be by Paulina's Passions. Below is the image I found, you can click here to take you to the original post.
So I'm not too sure what caught my eye on this one, but I liked it and this is my version.
Now I know Pauline is absolutely amazing and there is no way at all that I can do this any justice as she does amazing things with a nail art brush... So I cheated and used decals :P
I started with two coats of Ulta3 lily white on all my nails, top coated and waited for it to dry. I then used the stripes vinyls from Cherry Blossom Store. I then painted a coat of I love Hean black over that, removing the vinyls immediately. Once that was dry, I used my smallest dotting tool and Tip Top gold mine to make the dots, alternating the spaces on the black and white stripes. BTW any tips on getting nice clean dots? I can almost never get a uniform size or shape.
Then I cheated and added decals from alixpress... Because easy. No frustration. And I prefer the matte version. The first picture is shiny last two is matte.

What do you think? I decided on different coloured flowers as it wasn't really a valentine's day mani for me. I'll also see you guys again on Friday as we have our triad post (can't believe it's that time again), so no bday mani for this year!

#52weeknailchallenge: inspired by a country

I was seriously wondering what the hell I was going to do for this prompt... I mean inspired by a country? Seriously... Then I remembered I have stamping plates that are inspired by countries. And I ended up choosing France, because Eiffel Tower.

I started with two coats of I love Hean 870 from the pastel collection on my index, middle and ring finger. Top coated that for vinyls. On my thumb and pinky is two coats of Hean Ordinary Misfit. Once 870 was dry I added striping tape vertically across my nails and painted ordinary misfit over that, removing the striping tape immediately.
On my index and ring finger I stamped the fleur de lis design with Nubar silver mist and plate BP 36. Once that was dry, stamped the Ooh la la and Paris with my essence stampy polish in black. On my middle finger I stamped the Eiffel Tower, which unfortunately came out more looking like the leaning tower of Pisa.
So that's my inspired by a country mani... What do you think?
For some reason neither my clear stampers (one from BPS and other from bliss kiss) will pick up images using essence stampy polish. So I'm a little worried about our triad post for March... The image I chose will require being precise with placing it, so I might have to end up using a normal polish to stamp with, which won't be opaque enough... Ugh And I know Joyce will suggest double stamping it using the clear stamper, but I've tried that already and I suck at it!!

Thanks for reading guys!

#52weeknailchallenge: brown

I''l admit this post is a little late, but I've been so drained these past two weeks. I would get home, make supper, veg for a hour or two and go to bed. We have new staff and the training is going very very slow. They can't seem to comprehend the system and they have worked on it before... So WTH??

Anyway, my brown mani wasn't quite what I had wanted, but it's decent. I started with two coats of Hean City Fashion 166 on my pinky and thumb. My other fingers has two coats of I love Hean 893 from the neon collection.
I then used sharpie vinyls from becauseishop and painted a thick coat of 166 over it removing the vinyls immediately.
So it's not particularly pretty or stunning, it's a little meh, but it counts for brown. It was also a little more impressive in person. The neon popped so much more.
What do you think? Tempted to join the challenge yet?

#52weeknailchallenge: music

OMG you guys! Can you believe we are up to week 10 already? So this week the prompt is music...

I was thinking of doing negative space nails again, inspired by Blank Space by Taylor, but negative space was only last week... But then I remembered that I had just received some decals and some of them were musical notes!

So I started with two coats of Hean City Fashion white on all my nails. Placed some decals and stamped with essence stampy black and BP 47 on my middle finger.
And that is pretty much it. In hindsight I should have added some colour... A little bit of a sponged something or another but anyway.
And then of course I am so freaking chuffed with myself as I stamped my middle finger with my normal stamper and I think it's pretty straight. Yes Joyce, a little off center again, but you try it without a clear stamper!
One of the patients even asked me if I'm a musician! What do you think? Needs a little colour, right?

#52weeknailchallenge: negative space

So I have realized that I am terrible at explaining things... Here I am randomly doing this 52 week challenge and you have no idea what it is, where or how? So here's a link that will take you to Michelle's blog and she explains it all.

There. Explanation done. Anyway for this prompt, the negative space prompt, I took some inspiration from this mani done by Paulina. I started with two coats of a polish that was gifted to me, it has no name, no number, just HD on the bottle, on my thumb and pinky. On my index, middle and ring finger I stamped using plate BC-10 that was sent to me by Cherry Blossom Store and essence stampy polish white.
I top coated as I was going to use striping tape. I then taped off sections of my nails and used the same HD polish to fill in the blanks.
Top coat over that and then added a square stud to my middle finger. It bothered BF slightly as the stud was off centre, but hey it's not that easy placing it.
So I really like it, but I'm a little iffy about it too. What do you think?
Thanks for stopping by!!
