Hean nail polish #271 - Jungle Pop Collection

Why is it not weekend anymore? I could have done with a couple more hours. The weekends always feel exceptionally short when I worked them. Although it's only until 14:00, it's still a drag. If you want to plan something it can't be too early and it can't be too late either as I still have to work the next day.

Anyway, enough of that. I have another Hean to show you today. Michelle swatched them all here and Sam has a swatch here. This is #271, a frosty looking pink.
This is two coats. And as we've come to expect dries quick and shiny. This is a unique colour to my collection, which is always a bonus!
When I was wondering what art to do with this colour I thought that it reminded me of spookasem! That's candyfloss for those that didn't get that. I decided to make some candy decals from BP-L023.
On my middle finger I stamped with Tip Top Cherries in the Snow. I think it came together rather nicely.
Now don't forget to get one of these if you like them... They might not be around for very long!
You can find them at Glamore Cosmetics.

Thanks for popping by!

Twinsie post with Michelle: Water Spotting

Yay! It's that time of the month again for a twinsie post with Michelle. As usual we couldn't make up our minds as to what we were going to do or what our colour scheme was going to be... So we settled on water spotting as it was something that we both have been wanting to try. Our colour scheme was chosen by BF as he could actually pick something without second guessing himself.

He chose a light blue base and red and green for the spotting. So I decided to use Hean City Fashion #174 as my base.
For the spotting I used Essence Beijos de Brazil and Tip Top Cherries in the Snow.
This mani took forever!! Mainly because I did one finger at a time (less chance to mess up multiple fingers) and I had to wait for my simply peel to dry between fingers too. Think of simply peel as condom for your finger when doing messy nail art. LoL My other hand I did two fingers at a time and that worked for me too.
I know Michelle had some trouble doing this, but I had fun! There was no real way to screw this up. As long as you could get the polish to break properly. I used an old perfume that was gifted to me a couple of years ago that I never used as the smell wasn't quite me.
I did have a mother of a headache afterwards and the house still smells like this damn perfume! But it was totally worth it... Even Michelle swearing at me!

So do pop over and have a look at what Michelle did and give her some love. She totally needs it!! And let me know what you think of mine!

Thanks for reading!

Mediterranean animal

One day the lovely lady from We Heart Nailart posted a manicure on Instagram using a Barry M nail polish. Now I've seen many UK bloggers using it and I've always kinda lusted after one. I like having unique polishes that's not obtainable here in SA. So I asked if she would be bringing some of those back with her from her trip to the UK for the online store. The answer was sadly no, but she did mail me later that day and offered to bring me one back as a gift and to try it out. Man was I excited!! I literally jumped up and down in my chair.

Anyway, not only did I get one... I got two!! How freaking awesome is that?? The first one I wanna show you is Mediterranean, I believe it's from the Aqua range or something like that.
It's a beautiful duochrome, which complete dazzled me. It was like wearing a multitude of colours on my nails. It shifted between a rosey shimmer, bronze and gold. I couldn't keep my eyes off it!
I started with two coats of Mediterranean on my thumb, middle finger and pinky. On my index and ring is one coat of SC Snow me White.
I stamped with Mediterranean on my index and ring finger using BP-L006. On my middle finger I used my essence stampy polish in white.
I couldn't stop staring at this polish. It's really wow. I can't believe how lucky I was getting it. Thank you so so much Shann.

Hean nail polish #273 - Jungle Pop Collection

HOLO bitches!! I have one of the new Hean's to show you today. I cannot tell you how excited we were for this collection to reach South Africa. I was on the edge of my seat the whole day I was expecting the delivery. And since Gael kept sharing these random pics of awesome, how could we resist?

I decided to start with #273. It's a beautiful light brown HOLO!!!!! And who is with me on how difficult it is to decide on nail art over holo's? Because who wants to cover up that beautiful rainbow of colour?
I started with two coats, but if I used a thicker coat it would have covered in one! It went on easily and dried quickly.
And the holo, OMG it's stunning!!
With flash, indoor
I hate covering up holo's with nail art, I really do, but I can't not do art.... So I decided to stamp coffee beans, as this colour weirdly enough made me think of coffee.
I used Sorbet's Chic Me Baby (thanks Michelle, this was an awesome buy) and BP-L023 for the beans. For the cup of coffee I used my Essence stampy polishes in black and white and Hean #274 to make a decal. Hean #274 is also a sneak peek at one of the other HOLO polishes from this collection.
If you want this polish or need it, go to Glamore Cosmetics and get it before they run out! Seriously!! You can also find them on FaceBook and Instagram.

One last picture to show you the awesomeness in full sunshine! (go get it now!)

I love Hean #466

I have another beautiful Hean polish to show you guys today. When I saw Michelle and Sam using this polish I knew I had to get me one of them... But Gael didn't have anymore! But she said she might be able to sort something out for me. And am I glad she was able to.
Just look at it! This is two coats of beauty. I seriously can't get over how pretty this colour is.
I did a french mani on my ring finger and then stamped a lacey design from BP-L020.
I was hoping that it would stamp a bit darker than what it did, but I like how subtle it looked. On my index finger I stamped the same design with Tip Top Armourplate.
If you want this polish, I suppose you could contact Gael and ask her to organise one for you. I'm kinda sure she'll be happy to oblige. If for that matter they haven't ordered more already.
Don't forget to pop over to Glamore Cosmetics. And you can follow them on Facebook or Instagram.

Hean City Fashion #174

I have another new Hean to show you today. This one is from the City Fashion range. #174 is a dusty baby blue. And when I say dusty, I mean, close up it actually looks like this polish has little grey particles in it! It's really a beautiful colour.
This builds up nicely in two coats. And from what we came to expect from the Hean polishes, dries quickly.
I got my new stamping plates on the same day I got this polish and the one plate had "love birds" on a line. And I really wanted to use the stamp.
Since I knew there was no way I'd be able to line up the stamp properly I decided to rather make a decal for my middle finger. I used a black stampy polish I got from BPS and plate BP58. On my index finger I stamped with Tip Top Red Rendevouz and a different image from BP58.
On my ring finger I used Tip Top Gold Mine and BP-L019. I love the cages on this plate and for some reason the phrase "gilded cage" kept coming to mind.
This was another mani people kept noticing. Not that I mind...

If you like this dusty blue, then pop over to Glamore Cosmetics and get one before there's none left.

I love Hean collection #424

Happy Public Holiday to my South African peeps! LoL It was Woman's day yesterday and I was lucky enough to lounge about, but today I'm not that fortunate... Work beckoned today and I'm totally not impressed. Anyway, on to the real beaut I have to show today.

Occasionally a polish comes your way that just knocks your socks off. And this is one of those polishes. Today I have #424 from the I love Hean collection to show you. Michelle swatched it here, so you can go and have a gander at her awesomeness.
I feel that I have to mention that Michelle takes her pictures in a lightbox, where I rely on natural light. Anyway, this is two coats of beauty.
The reason why I mentioned Michelle's swatch is because I feel like I copied her design a bit. Let me show you what I mean.
I used decals I got from BPS.
Another tidbit that I think I should mention, I did this mani on a Sunday afternoon and took it off the Wednesday, only because I wanted to do my nails the Thursday morning as I started work later. And I'm pretty sure I could have worn this mani for another couple of days.
I had minimum tip wear and that's it. It looked good for just over 3 days wear. And I did wear it, filing and typing and hair washing and just life in general.

What is your opinion of #424? Pop over to Glamore Cosmetics if you think it's the beauty I think it is and get it now!

#OMD3: Weather

Like I mentioned in my previous post, I'm attempting to catch up on the OMD3 challenge posts. This was one the posts that I was most looking forward to as I had a Hean polish I was dying to show you guys, but I kept it for this prompt.
I started with two coats of Hean 811 from the I Love Hean collection. This is a beautiful frosted periwinkle. The shimmer in this polish is so pretty, pity it doesn't show much on the nail, but you can see it in the bottle. The colour also shows a bit darker on the nail, than in the bottle. But still a beautiful colour.
This colour made me think of cold and our weather has been on the cold side, so I wanted to stamp some snowflakes. I randomly stamped on some snowflakes from plates BP-01, M59 and QA58.
I used Hean 466, Tip Top In the Navy and Stormy Sky and Essence stampy polish in white.
Only after I did this and admired my handy work I remembered Michelle did this and Heather did this and I was like: NOOOooooo
And then I was like....
So what do you think of my blatant copying of other peoples work?

#OMD3: Flames

This post is so late, it's not even funny. I'm so sorry for the radio silence, but BF used the last of our internet for some kind of update or download or something and there I was with posts that needed to be posted and a challenge that needed to be finished and no such luck.

So for the next couple of days, I will be posting to catch up on the OMD3 challenge. Not that I have much time left... So the first one I missed was Flames. I remember that @yagala did a Hunger Games themed mani that involved stamping and flames here. So obviously I tried to do something similar and failed miserably.
I started with two coats of Essence The Black Cat, with the latex matte effect. Once that was dry I started with my stamping...
I stamped with Tip Top Volcanic Eruption, Essence Love is in the Air and Off to Miami!, and with I Love Hean 466. The Flames is from BP-L12.
My stamping sucked! For some reason these colours didn't wanna show up very well, and I know they stamped because Michelle used them in her Stamping Tuesday's.
So maybe you should just go look at Galina's video on IG and see how the pro does it. And with better stamping polishes.
