#52weeknailchallenge: scrollwork

And just like that we at week 9 of the challenge. What I find kinda funny, is how the Instagram people are a week or even two ahead and what's even more funny is that it was requested for the date to be added to the prompts... Like week 9 is due 3 March. Oh well, you win some, you lose some. You can never make everyone happy.

Anyway, the inspiration for this prompt was rather low, but Michelle came to the rescue with loads of pictures. One stood out and this is what I did.

I started with two coats of Tip Top hot wired. It's almost a one coater, depending on the thickness of your coat. I always settle for two though.

I then stamped some swirls from Lina twirls and swirls 1 with Nicole Diary NS05.

I then added OPI matte top coat. And that's that. What do you think? I like how this turned out, especially the matte one. Although the shiny one is pretty too!

#52weeknailchallenge: fandom

OMG I just realised I somehow managed to skip fandom!! Don't even ask how I managed that, it seems I blacked out whole week.

I had lofty goals for this mani. I wanted to do Skyrim inspired nails, but I was still waiting for my Skyrim inspired polishes when I did this. So I settled for my original idea. I was going to do a Howl's Moving Castle inspired mani.

I started with two coats of Hean I love Hean 870 on all my nails.
I didn't want white as a base, so I settled for the light gray. So each finger has a story. Let's start with my thumb and index.
I used feather vinyls from becauseishop on my miracle mat. Painted a coat of Ulta3 black satin and a thin coat of China Glaze let your twilight sparkle over that, removing the vinyl immediately. Once it was dry, placed it on my nail. This is to represent Howl as a bird. Obviously on my middle finger is Turnip Head himself! He was stamped from HeHe 61, his face was coloured in with Hean City Fashion white and the band on his top hat was coloured in with I love Hean 906.
On my ring finger I have Calcifer, fire demon. I used flame on vinyls also from becauseishop. And attempted a gradient, with yellow at the tip moving into orange and red. For this I used Hean City Fashion 178 and 171 and I love Hean 440. For Calcifer's eyes I used a dotting tool and my black and white polishes. Finally on my ring finger I stamped some gears, also from HeHe 61 with Mundo De Unas copper. This is to resemble the castle.

I am very pleased with how this turned out and someone recognised Calcifer!! Without being told what my inspiration is. What do you think? Did I do this justice? Do you see Calcifer?

#52weeknailchallenge: gold

This cold weather we having is not conducive to my blog posts. It's too cold to sit with my laptop... I know I know, why don't I just sit in bed? Well my laptop is connected to the internet via a LAN cable and it's only so long.

Anyway, today's prompt is gold. First off I have a swatch for you. This is I love Hean 900 from the winter collection. Two no fuss coats.
I love this colour. There's just something about it.
Now, today's prompt is not whatever this colour is... it's gold. So I paired Essence I still believe in Santa Claus with a watermarble design from plate HeHe 40.

I tried to align the centre point on different places on my nail, which was slightly difficult as the stamp wasn't very big. So I didn't have a lot of leeway.
Also, those little points that it makes, was very difficult to clean. I kept getting pieces of cotton wool stuck in it.
What do you think of my faux watermarble and the gold? It counts right?

Thanks for reading guys!

#52weeknailchallenge: inspired by a movie

I need someone to explain this to me... How do I, do all the things I need to do and all the things I want to do while still working a 9 hour day? I am some how expected to, after dealing with people the whole day, clean, cook, spend time with BF and have me time. Oh and I can't be a miserable bitch while doing that. I used to love to read and now I can't even remember the last time I finished a book.

Okay moan session over for now.... Kinda. Anyway, I totally cheated with this prompt... I was thinking of doing another anime movie as I have the whole series of HeHe stamping plates that was inspired by Studio Ghibli, but while I was looking at my polishes, I remembered this awesome one that Michelle gifted to me last year with our Secret Santa.
This is Feed me, Seymour!! Inspired by the Audrey II from Little shop of Horrors. I actually just watched it last week. And the whole time watching it, I thought how much they got this polish spot on.
I remember as I child I used to say: "No shit Sherlock", like all the time and now I know where it comes from!! Because Audrey II said that to Seymour when he explained his diabolical plan to him.
I can't explain how excited I was when I found this polish in my box... It was one I had been eyeing for a while and I even asked Michelle to get it for me when she ordered Dollish again and there she surprised me.
So what do you think? Of my blatant cheating and this awesome polish?

Hean nail polish: City Fashion 10t (Black)

I decided to give scribbled nails another go... And I much prefer my previous try. I had a very sheer metallic looking pink that I thought would look rather cool over black. But alas, not as cool as I thought.
This is two coats of City Fashion 10t (the opposite of 0t)(and really, call it black already).
There isn't much to say about blacks are there? It's black, what more do you need?
I used City Fashion 24 for the scribbled detail. I waited for the decals to dry, stuck them on while my base was slightly tacky and top coated. Sometimes if my base is too dry, I then just add a couple of dry brush strokes with a clear polish. Just so there's something for the decal to stick to.
I decided to mattify it and I can't decide which one I like better. It kinda looks like granite... What do you think? Shine or matte?

I love Hean: Neon Collection

It completely sucks when work interferes with my posting. I meant to finish this post last Thursday, but I had such a migraine that I had no energy to do it. I was also supposed to be off Friday, but most of my colleagues decided to be off sick. So who do they ask to staand in, because no one else is reliable? Anyway, rant over.

I'm doing things slightly different this time. Instead of showing you one swatch at a time, I'm showing you all of them and then I'll be doing a couple of posts with some nail art using the neons. Just a note, in all the swatches I'll be wearing a white base on my index and ring finger. The others won't have a base. So you can see the difference between the two.
First up, 890. This is three coats except on the fingers that has a base. Those are only two coats. I'll be honest, I'm not a fan of yellow neons, they always require too many coats to be opaque. But it is fun to wear.
Next up, 891.
So it's no secret that green is my favourite colour and this one is no exception. But I was expecting a little more on this one. I was expecting something along the lines of I Love Hean 809 (swatch). Anyway, this is two coats all round.
Next, 892.
OMG this is so freaking orange, it hurts your eyeballs! Again two coats.
Next, 893.
I was slightly confused between this colour and the next... Is this one a coral or a salmon? Again two coats.
Next, 894.
So, salmon or coral? Again two coats.
And last up is 895.
Finally the pink has shown up. This is also two coats.
And that is the Neon collection for you... I would suggest using a white base for all of them, it just makes the colours pop more. What I have noticed is that these don't dry to that beautiful shiny finish all the other Hean's do. They dry to a semi matte finish, but from what I've seen on other blogs, that is the norm for neons. So the question is, do you need them? And the answer is, HELL YEAH. If you don't know by now, just click the Glamore Cosmetics banner or the link and it will take you to their shop.

Hean nail polish: City Fashion 166 (and a peek at the Neon collection)

I hope everyone else is enjoying this cold weather as much as I am. We got a new couch about 2 weeks ago and it's much bigger than the old one, so its nice to be able to properly snuggle up with a warm body next to you.
So sometimes a nail polish comes your way that just surprises you. Sometimes in a good way, sometimes in a bad way. This is one that surprised me in a good way. This is one (yes, one) coat of City Fashion 166. If you interested just click on the Glamore Cosmetics banner or the link to go directly to their shop.
I'm not a huge fan of nude polishes, but I do occasionally like wearing it. And this is already a favourite.
This is a bit of a busy mani. I think I tried too many things at the same time. But oh well. It was fun and apparently looks like a party under a UV light.
There is a mix of I love Hean 890, 891, 892 and 893 all from the Neon collection. On I middle finger I tried a needle drag, there's random dots and the stripes were a bit of a smoosh using the polishes. So it here it is looking like a party!
My colleagues thought it looked so cool under the UV light that they made me make it my WhatsApp profile pic.
What do you think? These neons are quite neon. And I love that they are UV light activated. It kinda makes them seem rather dull otherwise.
Thanks for stopping by.

Hean nail polish: City Fashion 109

I have another red polish from Glamore Cosmetics to show you today.
This is two coats of City Fashion 109. A red jelly looking polish.
I haven't found a Hean polish I don't like. Regardless of the colour and all that. Anyway, so I saw a mani done by Jessica @dripdropnails and I was totally inspired.
I used zig zag vinyls and City Fashion 177.
So apparently this looked like hatching easter eggs... I don't know. Don't see it.
What do you think? So I should have the I love Hean Neon collection ready by next week. I'm still busy swatching and editing my pictures.
