Friday Triad: Inspired by Joyce

Its that time of the month again for our Triad. This month it was my turn to choose and I chose this by Joyce herself. She's been having such a tough time with her renovations and what not I was hoping this would improve her mood slightly. And not to mention that the inspo is gorgeous.

Let me show you what I did. This gave me an excuse to use Cirque pebble again! Not that we need an excuse. I have two coats on my thumb, index and middle finger. On my ring finger I have two coats of Pahlish golden snidget. On my pinky two coats of China Glaze central parka.
I then used some sharpies vinyls from becauseishop on my miracle mat to make the chevrons for my middle finger. I used Ulta3 black satin for my black. I wanted to stamp these... But I wasn't sure how it would turn out. So my lines are a little thick but oh well.
On my ring finger I stamped an image from Lina let's doodle! 3 with Nicole Diary black.
I love how this turned out. I decided to go with the recreate option this time, especially since I love the original so much.

What do you think? Do head on over to see Joyce's original and give Michelle some love! Thanks for reading!

#52weeknailchallenge: white & silver

I was at a loss as to what to do for this prompt, especially since silver is so close to white. So I went onto Pinterest hoping for some inspiration. And I saw loads of marbles. So I decided to do a smoosh.

I started with a coat of Hean City Fashion white, not worrying about opacity.
I then smooshed with CF white and Rimmel Rock the metal.
I really liked how this turned out. It looked especially pretty when the light would fall on the silver in between the white.
Easy-peasy, lemon-squeezy. What do you think?

Thanks for stopping by!

#52weeknailchallenge: french tip

I've been wanting to do a rainbow gradient french for ages now and I finally did it... I'm not super happy with how it turned out and the flaws are more noticeable in the pictures, but I did it and that's all that counts.

I started with my current base coat and stamped the french with Lina feeling shapely 9 and Nicole Diary white stamping polish. I then used my simply peel liquid latex around my cuticles and to cover my nail, leaving the white bare.

For my gradient I used:
Yellow - China Glaze Daisy know my name?
Red - CG red-dy to rave
Orange - CG glow with the flow
Purple - CG violet-vibes
Blue - CG DJ blue my mind
Green - CG treble maker
And so my troubles started. The liquid latex didn't want to peel clean off, I suspect I should have top coated... So it kinda lifted the polish from the white and I was left with white lines sticking out. Which I couldn't acetone away because the white made everything else white.
So I made do with what I had... Added a coat of OPI int'l crime caper, hoping to hide the imperfections, but I'm fairly certain that did not help! Also the pink to purple gradient wasn't great either...
What do you think? Don't judge too harshly.

#52weeknailchallenge: negative space

I always wonder about negative space prompts... Are we using a stamping plate like Lina totally negative or are we leaving bare nail for everyone to see? I mean if you a true polish lover, you will have stained nails and generally steer clear of showing naked nails. Anyway, let me show you what I did.

I started with two coats of Pahlish dark mark on my thumb, index and pinky.
On my middle and ring finger I have a coat of OPI int'l crime caper. This is a super sheer polish with a great shimmer.
I then added some decals and that's done.
What do you think? I kinda like how this turned out.
I was wearing a patch on my index nail as it had a tear and when I removed the polish, dark mark actually stained the patch. So I had my very own dark mark!

#52weeknailchallenge: plaid

This is a difficult prompt for me... Because BF is pedantic about small details. And it's been pointed out that some designs that's been done, is not plaid, but tartan. So I ended up googling the difference and came to the conclusion that it's the same damn thing! (It's not quite, but this made me happy.) While I was googling the difference, I came across this image and I was inspired.
So I started with two coats of Color Club wild cactus on all my nails. This is such a pretty colour and we all know that I'm a sucker for a nice green.
I then stamped a layerable plaid image from Lina winter 3 with a Born Pretty navy (I think it's #7) and the layered image with Mundo de Unas reddish.
I stamped another criss cross image from Lina feeling shapely with a Born Pretty gold stamping polish that doesn't have any number.
I'm kinda digging how this turned out, what do you think?
