Friday Triad: Inspired by Debbie (ladyandthestamp)

It's time for another Triad post. This month it was Michelle's turn to choose and she chose this mani done by @ladyandthe_stamp

I really liked the colour combo of this mani, so I decided to recreate it. I started with two coats of 3ina 505 on my index, middle finger and pinky. On my ring finger and thumb I have two coats of 3ina 507.
The flowers is from BP-L067 and I used Nicole Diary white stamping polish for it. I coloured it in with OPI keeping Suzi at bay and the leaves with 3ina 186. The studs are from Aliexpress and I stuck them onto my tacky topcoat and obviously I had to matte everything. I used OPI matte top coat for that.
3ina 505 and 507 are matte polishes but not a true matte as you see that my thumb in the first pic still has some shine.
For some reason I didn't take my normal flat hand picture, but I do have this odd one... What do you think? Of the hand pose and the mani? Don't forget to head on over to Michelle and Joyce to see what they did.

#52weeknailchallenge: splatter

I had no idea what I wanted to do with this prompt... I have splat decals and I have Lina plates.
So I decided on Lina plates. It just kinda came together but I don't know if it WORKS.

I started with two coats of Pahlish Idris on my thumb and pinky. The rest of them have two coats of a nude HD polish with no name. Can I just say how much I despise polishes that doesn't have a distinctive name or number? I mean it's bad enough when they don't have a name, only a number...
Anyway I then stamped 2 images from Lina make your mark 1 with Mundo de Unas mint and orchid. Then I added as an accent a splat image using Nubar silver mist. A flash shot to show off the holo in Idris.
As I said I'm not sure if it works, maybe the silver stamp was over kill. What do you think? What do think I should have done?
I had to matte it. It dulled the holo completely, so I'm not sure if I should have done that.. Which one do you prefer?

#52weeknailchallenge: animal

Let's just get this out the way, I did owls for animal. Get over it.

I had no inspo for this prompt at all. I knew I wanted to use owl decals, but that was it. So I sent a SOS to our Secret Santa group and this was born....

I started with three coats of Sally Hansen go bananas on my index finger, two coats of SH palm treat on my middle finger, two coats of Hean ordinary misfit on my ring finger and the rest has two coats of Hean City Fashion white. While that was drying I placed some zig zag vinyls on my miracle mat and used the 3 colours to make the zig zags.
While those were drying I stamped my branches from m66 with Munde de Unas caramel, removing the flowers with a dotting tool. Then stamped the flowers with MdU mint, removing the branches. Adding my decals after that. (the look of the purple owl matches my mood most of the time!)
Once my zig zags were dry, I carefully peeled them off and used my clear stamper to place them. I kinda like the look of it, with the white peeking through.
What do you think? I think it's different and quite colourful. And I'm glad I asked the group. This came out great thanks to them.

#52weeknailchallenge: houndstooth

The idea I had for this prompt actually came from an outfit I saw on someone one day. But it required a mustardy colour polish, which I didn't have the right shade. But I got some polishes since then and one of them was the perfect shade.

Let me show you what I did. I started with two coats of 3ina 505 on my thumb and pinky. The rest has two coats of Hean City Fashion white. I'm starting to not like white polishes. They go tacky so quickly!! Maybe because I've been using it rather often...
I top coated the white as I wanted to use vinyls. Once that was dry I used some straight vinyls and angled it across my index and ring fingers. I then carefully painted 505 on the one side of vinyl removing it immediately. Top coated that and waited again.
Once that was dry I used my simply peel and painted it across 505 leaving the white blank. When that was dry I stamped the angled houndstooth design from BP-L006 with Nicole Diary black on my index, middle and ring finger.
This mani actually looked better on Cindy, I should have swopped the angled colours on my nails around. I wanted it to look like the houndstooth was a strip across my nails. And I did it wrong. (sigh)

I did like how this turned out either way. What do you think?

#52weeknailchallenge: black & white

This was another mani that I had high hopes for didn't quite work. A while ago I've been seeing all these mani's on Instagram, that had a gradient base and black and white flowers.... I can't remember who did it first or who did it... But this is a shoutout to those people!!

So the gradient part was fine, I started with a coat of Hean City Fashion white. With these I don't worry about having an opaque base, since I'm doing something over it..... For my gradient I used essence play with my mint and Ulta3 radiant orchid.
I wanted to have multiple flowers, but time wasn't on my side. And I spilled acetone on my desk and messed up the base of my one clear stamper. So the head is clear but not the bottom and the bottom doesn't come off! So sad.
Anyway for the flower I used BP-L067 with Nicole Diary black stamping polish and I used CF white to colour it in. I may have been a little impatient with placing these. My white wasn't quite dry and I kinda made the flower from being long and elongated to a round blob!!
Hopefully it's not too obvious and you can still tell it's a flower? It's not bad, but its not good either. What do you think??
