#52weekchallenge: stars

I know, I know. This prompt was meant for last week, but I was feeling terrible and couldn't muster the energy to do the post. I'm kinda sick and tired of feeling sick and tired!

I was inspired by this mani done by Thea over at Madness Nails. I started with two coats of L.A Girl brilliant blue (which is supposed to be holo, but it is a very sad holo) on all my nails. Top coated and waited for that to dry.
I then used starry night vinyls from becauseishop. Arranged it randomly on my nail and used a piece of a torn up sponge and sponged on Sinful Colors snow me white.
I tried for a distressed look and I'm not quite sure if it comes across that way.
What do you think? That's stars and later this week I will post yellow, now that was a fun prompt (not).

Thanks for stopping by!

Friday Triad: Inspired by Cat's Claws

It's that time again!! The last Friday of the month where Michelle, Joyce and I chose a manicure for inspiration and see what each of us comes up with. Friday Triad.

Today's inspiration comes from this mani done by Cat's Claws. So I'm not gonna tell you too much about the base for this mani... All I can tell you, it's supposed to be an ombre.
Oh and don't worry about my thumb over there.... She's banned from showing her face as she decided to tear and now she is super short. The images on my index, ring finger and pinky is from BP-58 and stamped with Nubar silver mist.
On my middle finger I stamped the bird image from BP-75 with silver mist, then I stamped the cage over it from BP-L019 with a gold stamping polish from BPS. I should have stamped the image a little lower so I could get more of the cage on my nail, hence the chain going up my finger...
So what do you think? I chose this mani as a bit of a palette cleanser. A simple mani compared to the more complicated ones we have had. I have also cheated a little with the base here. I was working on my ombre for the #52weekchallenge and I thought it would make a good base for this. So keep an eye out for the ombre prompt to learn about the colours I used.... Or you could just guess them.

Dont' forget to pop over to Michelle and Joyce and give them some love.

#52weeknailchallenge: inspired by a video tutorial

My post is a little late today, because I haven't been feeling to great. But it's here now. Let me know what you think.

I learned something when doing this... Do NOT make decals the day before using them. They are too dry and hard then. Also don't try it when you in a rush. But it wasn't a complete fail.

I saw this tutorial by @clairestelle8 and I wanted to do something similar. So I started with two coats of Sinful Colors rise and shine on my thumb, two coats of SC dream on on my pinky, two coats of Starrily magic rainbow on my index and ring finger and lastly, a coat of SC snow me white on my middle finger.
For the horrid decals I used the same image Claire did from BP-L003 and essence stampy polish in white. The decals I used on my index and ring finger is coloured in with rise and shine and dream on alternating the colours. The decals on my middle finger I coloured in with Starrily magic rainbow.
I attempted to do a gradient on my middle finger, which since I was in a rush is not that great, because I first tried it with a sponge but then switched over to a fan brush as I didn't have the patience for multiple spongings.
So what do you think? It kinda grew on me, but it's not my best work.

Thanks for reading!

#52weeknailchallenge: winter

I may have done this mani already... This was kind of a "my bad" situation. I wanted to add some white glitter that would have been kinda like snow... AND then I forgot.... Fantastic, but at least it's an awesome mani. And I got to use my brand new Mundo de Unas stamping polishes.

I started with a white base, which was Sinful Colors snow me white. I then did a gradient with, from the cuticle, I love Hean black, Essence rock my world!, Hean City Fashion 172 and snow me white.

Once that was dry I stamped an image from BP-L011 with Mundo dark gray. Top coated and once that was dry I painted a coat of Essence matt about you over it.

As I mentioned I wanted to add a coat of white glitter, but I forgot. I still think this counts as winter though. It looks dark and stormy and I actually like this attempt better than my first one, which you can find here.

What do you think? Which attempt do you think is the better of the two? I may have peeked ahead at the challenge and I found that there is a prompt for an ombre... And I don't know what to do... I mean I have done a gradient for purple, for winter, I may have done one for yellow and now I'm stuck colour wise. Any ideas?

And as always thanks for reading!

#52weeknailchallenge: gold

This cold weather we having is not conducive to my blog posts. It's too cold to sit with my laptop... I know I know, why don't I just sit in bed? Well my laptop is connected to the internet via a LAN cable and it's only so long.

Anyway, today's prompt is gold. First off I have a swatch for you. This is I love Hean 900 from the winter collection. Two no fuss coats.
I love this colour. There's just something about it.
Now, today's prompt is not whatever this colour is... it's gold. So I paired Essence I still believe in Santa Claus with a watermarble design from plate HeHe 40.

I tried to align the centre point on different places on my nail, which was slightly difficult as the stamp wasn't very big. So I didn't have a lot of leeway.
Also, those little points that it makes, was very difficult to clean. I kept getting pieces of cotton wool stuck in it.
What do you think of my faux watermarble and the gold? It counts right?

Thanks for reading guys!
