Friday Triad: Inspired by @clairestelle8

And just like that another month and year comes to an end. The 52weeknailchallenge is at an end and I'm getting ready for next year's and this is the last Triad post for the year. And lucky me got to choose it. I was considering choosing something Christmassy, but as we would post after I decided to choose something else.

So I ended up choosing this mani done by @clairestelle8. I've been wanting to try it for ages because I just loved the whole stained glass look. And I did get a stained glass stamping plate from Moyra, which I wanted to give a go. Let me show you what I did.

I started with two coats of Ulta3 black satin on my thumb and index finger, on my middle and ring finger I have a coat of Sorbet calm before the storm (it's a white) and two coats of Hean sugar 852 on my pinky.
I then started working on my stamping decals.... I first used Nicole Diary black to pick up the stamping image and to colour it in. For the butterflies I used China Glaze red-y to rave, treble maker and glow with the flow. Once that was dry I placed it onto the white base to keep the neon, neon.
I then used a nail art brush and black satin to change the white to black. Once that was dry I stamped the same image with Essence I still believe in Santa Claus over the butterflies, trying to line it up. Top coated and done.
I really liked how this turned out. And I got a few compliments on it too. Don't forget to head on over to Joyce and Michelle to see what they did. I'm certain they hit this one out the park.

#52weeknailchallenge: Christmas

This will be the last prompt for the challenge this year. And we will start a fresh with a brand new challenge the first week of the New Year. Obviously the last prompt for the year is Christmas... And I already know when I see all the other amazing Christmas mani's, I'll be wishing that I had thought of it. Let me show you what I did.

I started with two coats of Essence welcome to the universe on my thumb, index and middle finger. On my ring finger and pinky I have one coat of Hean City Fashion white.
I then added some Christmassy decals to my ring finger and pinky with a coat of Ulta frosted over it.
I have 5 out of the 6 cosmic lights range of Essence and I'm not sure how I feel about it. The "bubbling" seems out of place, but I guess it didn't bother me too much.
What do you think? I do like the sparkle and it seems Christmassy enough.

Secret Santa mani's

Isn't it nice playing with new polishes and new stamping plates?

Here is some mani's I did while playing with my new things.

For this I started with two coats of WoW 427 on my thumb, index finger and pinky. On my middle and ring finger I have two coats of LA Girl cornflower. I then stamped an image from Essence shapes of glory with WoW 433 on my middle finger. On my ringer finger I stamped from Moyou Scandi 4 and coloured it in with China Glaze pearl jammin'

Here I started with two coats of Morgan Taylor go for the glow on my thumb, index and middle finger. On my ring finger and pinky I have OPI blush hour. I then stamped an image from Essence shapes of glory with WoW 422.

This is my favourite of the ones I did. I started with two coats of China Glaze lime after lime on my thumb, index, middle and ring fingers. On my pinky I have Tip Top galaxy. For the cotton I stamped from Konad 38 with Nicole Diary black and coloured it in with Hean City Fashion white.

This is the last one and was chosen by my Secret Santa Thea. I was told to do something, anything with ILNP Ava. I'm wearing two coats and on my ring finger I did a negative space with stamping from Konad 38 with WoW 433.

What do you think? Which one is your favourite?

#52weeknailchallenge: silver + blue

I was kinda stuck when it came to this prompt. So I asked for help in the secret santa group and Michelle came to my rescue with a whole lot of Pintrest pins. And one caught my eye.

This caught my eye and I knew I had to do it. Let me show you what I did.

I started with two coats of Ulta3 blue marlin on my thumb and ring finger. On my index, middle finger and pinky I have two coats of Ulta3 block it out.
I then stamped a twirly image from Lina Twirls and Swirls 1 with Nubar silver mist on all my nails.
I then used a small nail art brush and Sinful Colors charmed to colour in the one side of the swirl on my ring finger and pinky, just for a touch of glitter.
What do you think? This twirls and swirls plate is one of my favourites.

Thanks for stopping by!

#52weeknailchallenge: negative space

And just like that there's only two weeks left of this challenge. I'm kinda sad it's come to an end, but! Did you know that the new one is ready to go?? Ren over at @polish_portfolio with the help of B (@becauseishop) out did themselves and I may have already started...

Anyway on to negative space. I started with three coats of Ulta3 emerald inten-city on my thumb and index finger. On my pinky I have two coats of Ulta3 gold rush fever and two coats of Tip Top perfect look on my middle and ring finger.
The flowers came from BP-L015 and stamped with Nicole Diary white. I then only coloured the flowers in half way with emerald inten-city and gold rush fever. I then top coated and added a matte top coat.
I left the gold shiny as it already looks matte.
I really like how this turned out. What do you think?

File 13: mani's that never made it

I decided to show all the mani's I haven't shown before. So I can start fresh, no more back up mani's.

So first up,
I think I originally did this for the pink and purple prompt for the 52 week nail challenge, but the base ended up being more pink than purple, so I dumped it.
This was me trying something and I didn't like it all that much.
Here I swatched a Fairmaiden polish and attempted some double stamping. It's not bad, but I'm not feeling it.
This one isn't that bad, but I just never got around to sharing it.
Another I didn't get around to sharing, but the lighting sucks.
More bad lighting.
Here the stamping got lost on the polish. Also this is the mani I did after the engagement.
More bad lighting.
Blurry AF.
More blur and nub nubs.
Here I put some flakies on my middle and index and tried to stamp over it. It didn't work so well.

So not all of these are bad, I'm just getting rid of them to start the challenge for next year afresh. And I'm hoping to get around to sharing some Santa mani's by next week.

If you want any details about a specific mani, let me know.

Thanks for reading.

#52weeknailchallenge: summer

To be honest, I don't really like these season prompts, but what would a yearly challenge be without seasons?

Let's get started. I was looking at my Lina summer plates and was hoping something would pop. And something did. Ice cream!!!

I started with two coats of Sorbet vanilla ice on my pinky. On my thumb and index I have two coats of I love Hean 809. The rest has two coats of Catrice good lack!
I then made some decals from Lina summer 2 and Nicole Diary black. I used Tip Top toasted nuts for the cones and Tip Top broken soul, vanilla ice and 809 for the ice cream itself.
I mattified the ice cream nails and done.
I liked this, but I used a new base coat and it started peeling the day after I did it. As in the ice cream came off in one big peel. I was so sad.
What do you think? Summer enough? And would you like a peel off base coat that's not meant to be one?
