#52weeknailchallenge: metallic

Okay... So this prompt... Lots of hate for this one! I did this one 3 times!! Because I wasn't happy with it, at all! So I'm going to show all three and you choose a favourite.

First up...
I started with two coats of China Glaze I'll sand by you. I then stamped a wood grain image from Lina Autumn 1 with China Glaze swatch out! The butterflies are from Lina opposites attract and stamped with Nicole Diary white. The wood grain is supposed to be the metallic part, but it's not super obvious.

Secondly...
Here I started with three coats of Essie muchi, muchi on all my nails. I then stamped a floral image from Lina let's doodle 3 with Essence pink dreams are made if this. I then stamped another image over that on my middle and ring finger from Lina opposites attract with Rimmel rock the metal. Here both stamped images are metallic, but again not super obvious.

Lastly...
This was totally inspired by a previous Triad post. I have two coats of China Glaze swatch out! on my thumb, ring finger and pinky. On my index and middle finger I did a gradient with Tip Top dunes of desire, toasted nuts and bare with me. On my ring finger I used some Diagonal alley vinyls from becauseishop and coloured it in, in order of the gradient.

What do you think? Which one is your favourite? To be honest I like them all, they just failed at the prompt!

#52weeknailchallenge: purple and silver

I was stumped with this prompt. I didn't have any ideas and there was a definite lack of inspiration. Even after browsing pinterest I was still not feeling this prompt. Eventually something clicked and I had something to work with. Let me show you what I did.

I started with two coats of Essence prom-berry on my thumb and index, two coats of Tip Top fairy dust on my middle and ring finger and I sponged on Tip Top snow capped on my pinky.
I then stamped some random images from Lina Feeling Shapely 9 with prom-berry and Rimmel rock the metal.
I'm somewhat chuffed with how this turned out. I never know when is enough and I'm hoping I didn't overdo this. What do you think?

#52weeknailchallenge: white & silver

I was at a loss as to what to do for this prompt, especially since silver is so close to white. So I went onto Pinterest hoping for some inspiration. And I saw loads of marbles. So I decided to do a smoosh.

I started with a coat of Hean City Fashion white, not worrying about opacity.
I then smooshed with CF white and Rimmel Rock the metal.
I really liked how this turned out. It looked especially pretty when the light would fall on the silver in between the white.
Easy-peasy, lemon-squeezy. What do you think?

#52weeknailchallenge: ocean

As usual my post is a little late, but hopefully I'll manage to stay ahead soon. This was a rather difficult prompt for me, as I had no inspiration at all. So I made a plea to our Secret Santa group and someone suggested waterspotting. And I went with it.

I started with two coats of a mystery polish from Pahlish. I have a swatch for you. It's a very pretty polish and I was surprised by the opacity of it. I was expecting at least three coats.
I then used OPI keeping Suzi at bay and an old perfume that I don't use. Dropped the polish on water, sprayed with the perfume and voila! I also used simply peel for the clean up.
I was considering using more polishes, but I didn't want to hide the base too much. Once everything was dry, I added the bubble stamp from HeHe 66 with Rimmel rock the metal.
The stamping gets a little lost, but all in all I like it. The mystery polish especially. It was a big surprise. What do you think?

#52weeknailchallenge: unused polish

We at week three already of this years challenge and I may be making head way. This is one of the mani's I have done using my Secret Santa goodies. I've been looking ahead and I'm torn between using this for untried or holo... But I do have another mani that will go with holo too, so here you go.

I started with two coats of KB Shimmer rollin' with the chrommies on my thumb, index and pinky. On my middle and ring finger I have two coats of I love Hean black.
I stamped an image from BP-L027 with rimmel rock the metal on my ring finger.
Top coated and that was it... I tried to capture the shift and holo of rollin' with the chrommies, but I failed. Miserably. I have a flash pic to showcase the holo and you can see some of the shift around the edges of my nails.
I do like how this turned out. I kept looking at my nails admiring the shift. And the holo.
What do you think?

#52weeknailchallenge: halloween

Happy Halloween!! I've been wanting to use the mansion image on my one stamping plate for so long and I thought that this year is the year.

I started with a quick coat of Rimmel rock the metal. And by quick I mean a coat just to cover the nail, no matter if there's streaks or bald patches. Hence no swatch. I then did a gradient over it with Essence black is back at the cuticle, Tip Top stormy sky, TT moonshine and TT armourplate.
I then stamped the witch and bats using my essence black stampy polish from plate QA26. The mansion's windows I coloured in with Essence Andy, you're a star.
The ghost is from plate HN04-A that was gifted to me by Heather. It was stamped with essence's stampy polish in white.
I was actually disappointed by the mani, because later that very day, the top coat peeled off at the tips leaving a grey gritty coat behind. I think it was caused by armourplate, because it bubbled on some of my nails. And not bubble as in those little air bubbles, it caused bumps!

Oh well I still wore it for a couple of days. What do you think? Despite the peeling and bubbling I still liked it.
