#52weeknailchallenge: black

We up to week five of the 52 week challenge and the prompt for this one is black. I decided to keep it very simple. So this will be a very short post. I started with two coats of I love Hean 10t (black) on all my nails. Top coated and waited for it to dry as I was planning on using vinyls.

The vinyls reminded me of honeycomb. It's not quite, but it does kinda look like it.
The gold is I love Hean 852 sugar. I love the textured look of this gold.
What do you think of this easy mani?

Friday Triad: Inspired by...

We finally decided on a post name!! So here is the first Friday Triad of the year! It was my turn to choose, so I chose this mani done by Thea over at Madness Nails! I really hope she'll find it in herself to start blogging again one day, because I looooooove her posts. They so funny and quirky and keeps making you go back for more. I wish I had her way with words.

Anyway, so of course I started with one coat of Sinful Colors snow me white on all my nails. Then While that was drying I went one on one with a makeup sponge and tore it to pieces. Aaaand then nothing, since I had to chose the colours I was going to use and I was drawing a blank... Guess that's the downside of owning such a lot of polishes. Too spoilt for choice. BF wasn't much help as I asked him, but eventually I settled on the 5 polishes I would use.
Essence - love is in the air - yellow
Essence - beijos de brazil - green
Orly - 2hr lunch - pink
Color Club - ms socialite - purple
Sinful Colors - rise and shine - teal
Topped with Parental Advisory Polish - happy ending.
I did one colour at a time and sponged it on my nail using the pieces of sponge. Once all of that was kinda dry I used some dotting tools and snow me white to make the dots and top coated.
I wish I could have taken a better picture that shows off the flakiness of happy ending. Even with the flash it doesn't do it any justice.
What do you think? There was quite a few inspirations using this look. I was a bit meh about it, but it quickly grew on me especially with all the compliments I got!! Although it's a little awkward trying to explain to someone how to do it and people requesting to take pictures of it!!

Thanks for reading guys and I look forward to Joyce's choice for next month. Nevermind seeing what they came up with for this!

#52weeknailchallenge: dotticure

Sorry I'm a bit late today, but I'm at home since I had a little procedure done... So I'm being a bit lazy. This is actually an old mani that I never got around to sharing and I thought it would be perfect for the dotticure prompt of the 52 week nail challenge. In a way this challenge is helping with the lack of inspiration, but it is also taking all my time for not doing anything challenge related. But we shall see how it goes.I'm already dreading some of the prompts.
I started with two coats of Hean City Fashion 157.
I would take a chance and say this is a jelly looking red, but then I'm terrible at describing colours. I used four other City Fashions for the dots.
0t - white
178 - orange
171 - yellow
197 - purple
I feel that I simply suck at dotticures. The dots look so random on other mani's and mine don't. I don't know, all I know is I don't like my own dotticures.
What do you think?

#52weeknailchallenge: watermarble

Here we are with week 3 and its watermarble. Whoever thought that watermarbling should be a thing needs to be shot and hung and then shot again. I have probably done two successful watermarbles. If you count the one I waited for it to get dry first. So I was kinda worried about this week... I even asked if waterspotting would count instead of marbling, thank goodness it did. I was also thinking of vinyls... And then I saw this tutorial by @clairestelle8 and I had to be a bad person and copy it.

I started with a base of SC snow me white on all my nails and instead of doing a gradient I did a saran wrap. I wanted to do a gradient, but I was a bit time strapped and I don't really have neons that would have been opaque enough.
I love Hean - 890 - yellow from the neon collection
I love Hean - 892 - orange from the neon collection
I love Hean - 895 - pink from the neon collection
I love Hean - 809 - green
Tip Top - cyan can can - blue
Tip Top - grape dance - purple
While that was drying I laid down my marbled vinyls from becauseishop on my simply neat miracle mat. Grabbed Essence black is back, painted a coat over the vinyl and then a coat of Starrily magic rainbow over that. Peeled the vinyl off while the polish was still wet. I waited for that to dry slightly and then painted a coat of Essence absolute pure over that. Then the waiting game started as I had to wait for that to dry.
Once it was completely dry I peeled it off, fitted it to my nail and top coated. Of course there had to be a flash shot to show case the holo!!
So what do you think of my watermarble?

Thanks for reading!

#52weeknailchallenge: Ocean

We up to week two of the 52 week nail art challenge. This week the theme is ocean. Mine may not quite be ocean but it's ocean adjacent...

I started with two coats of Sinful Colors snow me white on my index, middle and ring finger. On my thumb is one coat of Hean City Fashion 166 and on my pinky is two coats of Essence play with my mint.
I did a gradient over snow me white with play with my mint and city fashion 166. Once that was dry I stamped the bubble effect from plate HeHe 066 with Essence stampy polish in white.
The starfish is Essence a hint of love and the pearl is Essence I still believe in santa claus. I used vinyls from becauseishop.
What do you think of my ocean adjacent mani? Think it passes for the challenge?

Thanks for reading guys!!

Cherry Blossom Store: Broken glass stencil review

I have another review for you guys today. This is the broken glass stencil from Cherry Blossom and you can find it here. This one was easier to work with than the others, it was easier to peel and it did stick to my nail better than the very first ones I tried. It was a little funny when I peeled it the first time and I was holding the border only...
I started with two coats of Tip Top in the navy on my thumb and pinky. For my index, middle and ring finger I painted two coats of O.P.I next stop... the bikini zone. I didn't bother with it being too opaque as I was going to cover a bit of it.
I then did a gradient with Tip Top in the navy and purple reign. You can't really notice the colour shift, but it is there. I guess I should have maybe used a different purple... Or even lighter colours. Too late now!!
As I said these were much easier to work with. There was some picking, but not as much as the previous ones and there was no lifting. What do you think? Also on a side note, I am getting me a light tent sometime this month!! Any tips?

#52weeknailchallenge: French Tip

Hey everyone, happy new year to you all. Finally all is back to normal after all these holidays. I almost feel like there's been too many. Working the one day off the next one and then working two and off again. Confusing.

Polish Portfolio started a 52 week nail art challenge. So I'm going to try and stick to it as much as I can. For the first week the theme is french tip. I obviously completely forgot about it, but I had a mani I still had to share that can be considered french.

I started with two coats of Hean 873 from the pastel collection on all my nails. Once that was dry, I did a gradient with 873 and Sinful Colors snow me white. I tried to concentrate snow me white on my tips.
I then added flower decals from aliexpress.
What do you think? Think this could pass for french? I'm slightly disappointed with the gradient, but I got tired of trying to get it perfect and I left it as is.
