Friday Triad: Inspired by Juli

It's that time of the month again for Triad!!

This month was my turn to choose our inspiration and I went with this one done by @juli_addicted. It seemed simple enough until my lines seemed to straight and then too wonky and then the top coat ate my decal. So fun and games. Let me show you how this turned out.

I started with essence shade of happiness at my cuticle then Tip Top cha cha cha then Omega stormy weather and then another line of cha cha cha.
I tried to not have my lines too even and in the immense concentration of getting the lines uneven I forgot to alternate my colours! So we have a rather uniform manicure here.
Once my base was dry I added my decals and then used my smallest dotting tool to make the dots with Ulta3 black satin. I'm not sure if I should have gone with less dots or not. And then of course my top coat ate my decal!
All in all I'm kinda happy with how this turned out. What do you think? Don't forget to check out what my two partners in crime did! I'm certain Michelle and Joyce knocked this out the park! As they normally do.

Polished Pretties monthly mani: My pick

As you all know I'm part of awesome group of nail art enthusiasts, called Polished Pretties and we decided to do something similar to the Triad posts, where we give inspiration for a manicure and post once a month... So I haven't been blogging about these as I don't always have the time to do a blog post, but I have been posting on Instagram. However with today's inspiration being my own I decided to do a blog post. Maybe if I have time I might start doing the others.... Let me show you my inspiration and what I did with it.

I bought the coffee cup for work with a sleeve that says "no coffee no workee", and I've been digging the design to this day. I started with three coats of essie turquoise & caicos on my thumb, index and middle finger. On my ring and pinky I have two coats of Hean I love Hean 856 sugar.
I then stamped a design from Lina summer 3 on my thumb with Mundo de Unas green. I was struggling my behind off with green, for some reason it just wouldn't pick up a full image. Tried different stampers, it was all very patchy. So eventually I settled for the best I could get. I stamped some leafy images from Konad square 35 with Mundo de Unas forest and green, again settling for the best I could get.
I then added some flamingos from Konad 35 and stamped with Mundo de Unas orchid.
And that's it. What do you think? I was kinda hoping that the Hean polish would be textured, that would have been awesome!

#52weeknailchallenge: paisley

This is one of those prompts where it looked better in my head. It's not a total fail, but it didn't turn out the way I wanted. Let me show you what I did.

I started with two coats of ILNP Mega (L) on all my nails except my pinky which I sponged on some Tip Top snow capped.
I then added some paisley decals. I knew the decals weren't opaque and that's why I opted for a light  and a holo base. I was hoping the holo would show through the decal.
Which it sort of does, but not as intensely as I imagined. And it was only obvious in certain light.
What do you think? It's still pretty, but I had higher expectations.

#52weeknailchallenge: purple and silver

I was stumped with this prompt. I didn't have any ideas and there was a definite lack of inspiration. Even after browsing pinterest I was still not feeling this prompt. Eventually something clicked and I had something to work with. Let me show you what I did.

I started with two coats of Essence prom-berry on my thumb and index, two coats of Tip Top fairy dust on my middle and ring finger and I sponged on Tip Top snow capped on my pinky.
I then stamped some random images from Lina Feeling Shapely 9 with prom-berry and Rimmel rock the metal.
I'm somewhat chuffed with how this turned out. I never know when is enough and I'm hoping I didn't overdo this. What do you think?

#52weeknailchallenge: Winter

So, Winter is here. Very exciting, the wet, the cold and the lack of inspiration for a manicure. I had some pink snowflake decals that I've been wanting to use forever, so I decided on a pond decal mani.... Yeeeaaaah it didn't turn out that great. But let me show you what I did.

I started with a coat of OPI don't touch my tutu! on thumb, index and middle finger. On my ring finger and pinky I sponged on Tip Top snowflake and topped it with a coat of Tip Top snow capped for some sparkle.
I then added some decals to some of my nails, adding a coat of DTMT! (don't touch my tutu!) as I go. As DTMT! was so sheer I added another coat before adding another layer of decals. I wanted to add more, but since I'm known for overkill, I stopped there.
There is so much I like about this mani and so much I don't like it's just MEH. I mean there's VNL everywhere, DTMT! started to stain after a couple of days so it looked grey. Icky. Maybe I should have done this over? Anyway....

#52weeknailchallenge: technology

I turned to my tech savvy fiance for this prompt... Shoved a stamping plate under his nose, told him to chose an image and tell me what colours to use. Then shoved different shades of said chosen colour under his nose and this is what I came up with.

I started with two coats of 3ina 185.
I then stamped an image from BP-L022 with Tip Top gold mine.
It's supposed to look like a circuit board. Easy peasy.
