Friday Triad: Inspired by Cambria

It's Triad time again!! It was Michelle's turn to choose this month and there was a huuuuge discussion about this mani. She had it pinned but the pic didn't have a watermark, so we didn't know how to credit. We then found one done by @nailsbycambria on pinterest, but we couldn't find it on Instagram. So if you click on her name, it will take you to Insta and here is the link to pinterest to the mani.

I decided to use my gel polishes for this, as I wanted to use transparent chameleon flakies I got in my SS box. I have one coat of Gel-it jack black on all my nails. Cured it and used the applicator to apply the flakies.
I applied the flakies the flakies on the whole nail on my thumb and pinky. On my index, middle and ring finger I used some vinyls from becauseishop for the triangles.
It's not perfect, I got some of the flakies out of the border, but not a lot. Once I was done I top coated, cured and then freehanded the matte top coat. And one last cure.
That's it! Super simple and I got loads of compliments on this, since the shift with the flakies are insane. Green to blue to purple and there's even some yellow flakes in there too. I decided to do a wear test with the gel and I've had this on for two weeks now. And I'm dying to take it off!

What do you think? Do pop over to Michelle and Joyce and give them some love!

#52weeknailchallenge: christmas

I'm popping in quick, just to say Merry Christmas and share my christmas prompt mani for the 52 week challenge. This is the last prompt and I'm proud to say I did them all!

I had this mani pinned and because it's not the traditional christmas mani, I decided to give it a go. I started with 2 coats of piCture pOlish nebula.
I then stamped snowflakes from BP-01, m59 and BP-L016 with essence stampy polish white and revlon rock the metal.
Added a matte top coat afterwards and that's that. Which version do you prefer?
What do you think? I'm actually not even wearing this mani currently. I'm doing a wear test with gel polishes and my triad mani.
Anyway, thanks for reading and have a fab holiday! I'll check in again friday for our triad post.

#52weeknailchallenge: white

I was wondering how to do white... It is a staple in all nail art, but it's not the main colour. Rarely. Normally it's the base for a gradient or for some kind of art. But today it has to be the focus... I then remembered this mani I did some time ago and never posted it.

My original idea was to have a white base with subtle gold stamping. Not a yellow gold, more of a washed out almost silver gold. Like essence's I still believe in Santa Claus, you can find a swatch here. But after chatting with Michelle about it, she gave me another idea...

I started with two coats of tip top perfect look.
My bottle is half, so I do need another. Well, I actually need to find OPI funny bunny. Anyway, I stamped an image off BC 10 that I got from Cherry Blossom store for review.
I stamped with essence stampy polish in white.
I liked how this turned out. I added a matt top coat just to see what it would look like...
So what do you think? This was very simple, but very pretty.
Thanks for stopping by!

#52weeknailchallenge: pastel

Here we are at the pastel prompt... This was the base for my tribal mani. I can't quite remember how I got to this. I think I was using google and was drawn to the gradients. I do remember it was a mani done by @ane_li that caught my attention.

I started with a white base and again I didn't note what white I used. So annoying! For the gradient I used tip top melting marshmallows, broken soul and blueberry pie.
I then added tip top galaxy, a holo glitter topper. Don't ask why I don't have pictures of the gradient before the topper. Again, annoying.
I do have a flash pic as well and it's slightly out of focus.. So you can see the holo better of course.
What do you think? Pastel enough? I wish melting marshmallows was a little more pink though. But we can't always have what we want, right? I for example want people to stop thinking I have an easy job, but that's not gonna happen... Anyway

#52weeknailchallenge: summer

And here we are at the summer prompt... Ironically, as I'm typing this post, it's raining! Not that I'm complianing, I've always enjoyed the colder weather more and with the drought we having we need the rain. Although one half of our counrty is drowning...

Anyway, let's get to the prompt. Maybe it will help brighten up everything. I have two coats of Revlon provoke on my thumb and pinky. For my gradient I used, provoke at my cuticle, essence love is in the air and sally hansen go bananas.
I then stamped from BP-L017 and using Nicole Diary black stamping polish.
On my ring finger I used a black striping polish to fill in the open spots where the stamper didn't pick up all the polish.
And that's that. Summery enough for you? I did have some other things in mind, but I didn't want to complicate it. Maybe next year!

#52weeknailchallenge: neon

I was having a hard time deciding what to do for this prompt... But then I remembered I haven't done scribbled nails in a while. So I decided to do scribbled nails and do it in rainbow order (which I had to google).
I started by blobbing my neons on my mat and then using a dotting tool to scribble them.
Once they where dry I painted a coat of essence absolute pure over my scribbles, waited for that to dry and placed them on my nails.
I'm not sure which white I used, for some reason I didn't make a note of that.
The neons I used was Tip Top as the beat grows on, cyan can can, grape dance, Hean I love Hean 892, 895 and 890.
I then stamped the YEAH! image from BP 76 on my middle finger using Nicole Diary's black stamping polish.

What do you think? I kinda liked this.
