#52weeknailchallenge: inspired by a video tutorial

My post is a little late today, because I haven't been feeling to great. But it's here now. Let me know what you think.

I learned something when doing this... Do NOT make decals the day before using them. They are too dry and hard then. Also don't try it when you in a rush. But it wasn't a complete fail.

I saw this tutorial by @clairestelle8 and I wanted to do something similar. So I started with two coats of Sinful Colors rise and shine on my thumb, two coats of SC dream on on my pinky, two coats of Starrily magic rainbow on my index and ring finger and lastly, a coat of SC snow me white on my middle finger.
For the horrid decals I used the same image Claire did from BP-L003 and essence stampy polish in white. The decals I used on my index and ring finger is coloured in with rise and shine and dream on alternating the colours. The decals on my middle finger I coloured in with Starrily magic rainbow.
I attempted to do a gradient on my middle finger, which since I was in a rush is not that great, because I first tried it with a sponge but then switched over to a fan brush as I didn't have the patience for multiple spongings.
So what do you think? It kinda grew on me, but it's not my best work.

Thanks for reading!

  1. Love the colors!
I've found out that the normal OPI top coat (not quick drying) works great for me as base for the decal. I have left mine on my mat for two nights and they were still pliable. Maybe that helps?

    1. Thanks. I use the clear polish from essence as my base. And that is very quick drying. I've even found when I do a watermarble and leave that to dry it, it dries quick and I can't use it a couple of hours later.
