Friday Triad: Inspired by JauntyJuli

It's that time again!! Each month Michelle, Joyce and myself pick a manicure and we try and recreate it or get inspired by it... So this month it was Michelle's turn and she chose this mani done by JauntyJuli. There is also a Youtube video that you can find here. I must be honest, I love these posts. There are times that I have no clue what to do with my nails and these posts offer inspiration, even if it's only for one mani.

I played around with a couple of grays and even black to see which would go best with the polish I would be sponging on. And even that added more polishes to the table... You know what sponged polish would go best with what base. And some people think nail art is easy... (pffft) I finally settled on Essence rock my world!, two coats for opacity.
I then sponged BarryM mediterranean at cuticle end on my index and ring finger and at the tip on my middle finger. Once that was dry, I stamped a mandala image from BP-L014 with a gold stampy polish from BPS.
I loved this mani! I wish I could capture the shift of mediterranean properly, but I have no photography skills. None. Whatsoever.
What do you think? Do head over to Michelle and Joyce's little universes and see what they did.

Thanks for reading!

#52weeknailchallenge: animal

I feel like I've cheated way too many times with this challenge. Or you can see it as me being clever, either way, this is another easy mani for a difficult prompt.

I mean animal, you can do stripes, you can do spots and apparently you can do unicorns or mermaids...

So I started with two coats of Hean 273 from the jungle pop collection.
And added some feline looking decals... I don't know if it's leopard or cheetah or what big cat it is.
And that is my prompt for animal. And of course a flash pic to show the holo. Which is not very obvious, but it's there.
What do you think? Am I being clever or am I cheating or being lazy?

Thanks for reading!

#52weeknailchallenge: green

I'm thinking that everyone would assume I've been waiting for this prompt. Because green. But I didn't. As much as I love love green, it's not a colour I wear all that often. I tend to lean towards purple and blue more often, even pink!! So when green came around I didn't really know what I wanted to do.

I settled on a smoosh. I started with a coat of Essence L.O.L as a base. I wasn't too worried about it being opaque or not, since smoosh. For the actual smoosh (yeah I'm just gonna say smoosh all the time), I used color club wild cactus, nubar conserve and essence good limes. Surprisingly enough all 3 those polishes were gifted to me by Michelle. She's a keeper.
Once the smoosh was done, I wanted to add something more and I settled for some glitter. I have a couple glitter toppers but almost never know when is the best time to use it. So I thought this would be a good time. I added a coat of Tip Top rocky road. Also, just ignore my thumb... I'm not sure how she slipped in, I only noticed when I was editing and by then it was too late.
I didn't fish for the glitters only for the bigger ones.
What do you think? My phone decided to take a blurry picture and it shows the holo of rocky road so nicely.
It's almost like a green galaxy...

Thanks for stopping by!!

#52weeknailchallenge: flowers

And so we come to the flowers prompt. I feel like I've cheated again, but I can't help that my base is absolutely gorgeous.
I started with two coats of I love Hean 904 from the winter collection.
This is such a stunning colour. Something about it actually made me want to wear it on it's own! The only problem I had with this polish was the brush. I felt it was too hard and not flexible enough.
I didn't wear it on it's own though. I added some flower decals from aliexpress.
And that's it. Nothing funny or extra. Just a beautiful base colour and some flowers.
What do you think?

Thanks for reading this very short post.

#52weeknailchallenge: spring

I must say I did not look forward to this prompt. Reason being next week's prompt is flowers... Spring is flowers, so do I do flowers 2 weeks in a row? That was the dilemma I chatted to Michelle about and she suggested a dry brush with pastel colours...

I then remembered this mani done by @juli_addicted. And I wanted to do something similar. So I started with two coats of Hean City Fashion white on all my nails... I initially played around with some polishes to get the colours I wanted to use. Even called in the help of BF.
I settled on I love Hean 878, 876, 872, all from the pastel collection and Tip Top cha cha cha. I dry brushed them on and while that was drying I laid down some striping tape on my mat for the black strip of polish. I used I love Hean black for that.
While that was drying I painted a coat of Essence I love my golden pumps on my nails. And then another round of drying started. I then cut up the black strips randomly placed them on my nails, top coated and eventually tried to ignore the brown tinge that was starting to form around the black.
All in all I kinda like it. What do you think? I'm not sure if it's quite spring, but it will have to do.

#52weeknailchallenge: orange

I honestly don't like these colour prompts... I kinda get stuck and forget that I don't have to only use that specific colour, because in my mind I should only be using the one colour.

For orange I decided to do a watermarble... I know, how brave. But I had to redo my mani. I did it on my off day, but I also had plans for that day and didn't finish by the time I had to leave. So I only managed to finish after I got home, but it was too late for pictures. I wore the mani for a week and everyone thought I was wearing a plain mani... With no art! Therefor I had to make an adjustment to the original.

I started with one coat of Hean City Fashion 178 on all my nails. It was the lightest of the oranges I was using. And in my create and contain circles on my blisskiss mat I did my watermarble.
I used Tip Top aye papaya and orange you fabulous and Hean City Fashion 178 and 171.
I originally only used the oranges. And since people thought there was no art, I had to add the yellow. Once I had managed a decent design I used a paper towel to absorb the water and left the polish on the mat to dry. Then I cut it in half and used my clear stamper to place it on my nail.
I was horrified to see small tears in my clear stamper the other day... Very sad! Anyway, I  top coated after that. What do you think? Think my marble is marble enough? Also what do you think of the lighting between the first two pics? For the second one I used a selfie light... I like the colours this way, but I'm not a fan of the shadow it makes. Let me know!!
