Halloween 2015

Yay so I managed to get in another halloween post. I'm kinda impressed with myself! LoL Of course it doesn't look as awesome as all those great ones on Instagram, but I like it.

I started with two coats of Tip Top Triple Putty. On my middle finger I stamped the bats image off BP-L025 with Essence stampy polish in black.

On my thumb I stamped another bats image off QA26 from BPS with Essence stampy polish in black. My ring and index finger is sporting the web image and a spider from QA26 with Essence stampy polish in black and white.
I actually meant to stamp the web in white on both fingers, but I screwed up. It doesn't look too bad like this though. I top coated and then I decided to mattify it.
And I liked it even more!!
How are you guys spending your Halloween? One of my colleagues are getting married today and I wish them all the best... He is kinda (very) annoying.

Thanks for popping by!!

piCture pOlish: Hercynia

One day closer to the weekend! Can't wait! I finally managed to get to another untried polish with this one. I'm still hoping to fit in one more Halloween mani this month, but I will show you my go to mani for short nails too. I've been having some bad luck with my nails tearing, luckily (touch wood) only my right hand. But I have been shortening my nails, so it's not so obvious. Anyway....
This is two coats of Hercynia from piCture pOlish.
This is such a beautiful colour, I love the holo and the tiny flakies that just makes this polish shine in the sun.
For the art, I used some small swirl vinyls and cyclone vinyls I got from TwinkledT. I always had this concern in the back of my mind about me using all of them and then needing to get more, but fortunately I can get them in SA now, which is awesome!
The red is Tip Top Raspberry Cream. Who is also paranoid about using their Tip Top polishes? Because when it's finished, it's gone. No more.
People rather liked this mani. Not too sure why, I mean it's not great... Guess it could be worse. What do you think?

Twinsie post with Michelle: Halloween Nails

Heeeey!! Sorry for not posting Monday... I guess it kinda slipped my mind that I'm working morning shift this week and can't do my posts in the morning before work.

I had such high hopes for this mani, but when it came to crunch time I couldn't put any of my ideas on my nails as they weren't appropriate for work and I kinda ran out of time.... This month just flew by me. I'm hoping to squeeze in one more halloween mani before month end. I'm being very optimistic here.

Anyway, on to my conservative halloween nails. I started with one coat of SC Burn Rubber on all my fingers except my middle finger. He is sporting one coat of SC Snow Me White.
I specifically chose Burn Rubber as it's a textured polish as I wanted my nails to look like a jack 'o lantern. For the faces I used my Essence stampy polish in black and stamping plate QA26 from BPS.
For my middle finger I used decals from Maskscara.
It seems even with halloween not being a big thing here in SA, people actually realised what the mani was for. A couple of people liked my "cool" halloween nails. Maybe SA is actually catching up with the rest of the world. Don't forget to pop over to Michelle and give her mani some love, since I'm sure she hit this one out the ball park. Unless she had the same problem I did.... Too many fricking options!

Thanks for stopping by!! BTW what's your halloween plans??

VIP lace

I seriously need to practice my gradients... My polishes don't blend the way I would like them to. I saw this awesome mani on Facebook the other day and obviously when I went back to find it, I couldn't. I have seen it before and it was on one of the pages that share mani's all the time. So if you know it, I'd like to give credit.

I started with 1 coat of SC Snow me White on my index, middle and ring finger. On my thumb I have two coats of Tip Top Orange you Fabulous. This is also the colour I used for my gradient. Before I started with the gradient I painted Simply Peel around my cuticles, which it's so much fun peeling it off when you done and there's almost no clean up.
On my pinky I have three coats of Barry M VIP. I could have gotten away with two coats, but I felt it needed another one.
I added decals I got from BPS. I positioned them that they don't cover my full nail, but rather only a portion. On my ring finger I added loose glitter. I wanted to add dots made with VIP, but I wasn't too sure how noticable it would be. So glitter!
I like how this mani turned out. And I'm kinda glad that the decal covered most of my failed gradient... LoL any tips on how to blend it better?

Reclaim of the Brillant Treasure

Did everyone have a good weekend? Happy it's Monday? Because I sure as hell ain't. Anyway, I did this mani some time ago and never got around to posting it. Which it's about time. I feel very meh about this one... It didn't quite live up to my expectations.

I started with three coats of Nubar Brilliant on my thumb and index finger. On my pinky and ring finger I have two coats of Nubar Treasure. As you can see I still have VNL with Brilliant.
For my middle finger I made a stamping decal with Brillaint, Treasure and Nubar Reclaim. The image is from BP-L013.
I was hoping that the colours would be a bit more vibrant, but it seemed quite dull. The only time that this mani shined, was in the sun. Holo!
And I'm also considering using Brilliant as a topper, instead of a normal polish. It's a bit sheer for my liking. What do you think?

Hean nail polish #280 - Jungle Pop Collection

Yay, it's finally Friday! Unfortunately it doesn't mean much for me as I'm working the whole weekend. Meh

Anyway, today's Hean is the last one from the Jungle Pop collection. This is two coats of #280.
You can see the holo in this picture already, but I do have one with a flash lined up as I had no sunshine when I swatched this one.
This is my second favourite holo.
Do you not love this holo? It's a true beaut. My art for it is very simple...
I top coated and then used single chevron vinyls from We Heart Nail Art. The nude I used is Toasted Nuts from Tip Top.
I like how these turned out, but my peoples didn't like it. Oh well.
Can't keep everyone happy. If you like this holo, pop over to Glamore Cosmetics to get one. I'm kinda relieved that the swatches are done, but I'm gonna miss it... The hardest part was deciding what art to do with what swatch.

piCture pOlish Fool's Gold

I've been meaning to share this for some time and I'm only getting to it now!! I can't even remember wearing it.

I started with two coats of Fool's Gold. It's sooo pretty! It's unlike any polishes I own. I want more! There was still some VNL but I was planning on adding some art, so it didn't bother me too much.
I topcoated my ring finger as I was planning on using vinyls and while I was waiting for that to dry, I started with my stamping.
I used Tip Top Gold Mine and BP-L013 for the diamonds. I used Simply Peel around my cuticles as Gold Mine is difficult to clean. Once I was finished with that I added a cyclone vinyl from TwinkledT to my ring finger and painted Gold Mine over it. I immediately removed the vinyl for crisp lines.
If you want to buy any piCture pOlishes or Moyou stamping plates or stampers just go to We Heart Nailart.
Or you can follow them on Instagram or on Facebook.
I also tried a new top coat. Glisten and Glow HK Girl top coat. I got this with my prize money from Llarowe. I wish it was easier to come by. I'd prefer this to Seche, there's no shrinkage of the polish underneath and it's fast drying too. But the shipping is crazy. So, if anyone knows of someone that knows someone that does some things, please introduce me.

Hean nail polish #274 - Jungle Pop Collection

Sorry my post is a bit late today. Had to do my nails first! Well today I have another Hean from the Jungle Pop Collection and it's the second last one I have to show.
This is one coat!! I was seriously impressed with this one. One thin coat, not even a thick one.
I'm loving these holo's. This is not my favourite one, but I love that it's only one coat!
And I had to include a sunshine shot, look at that holo! Is it not beautiful? For the art I did something very simple, since that's what I'm into lately.
I used stencils from Revlon. I saw these in Edgars once and never saw them again, so I'm kinda glad I got them. I used Hean Ordinary Misfit for the hearts.
What do you think of my simple nail art? I think I need to send Shann, from We Heart Nail Art, a mail and ask nicely if she could make these stencils, or a least something similar.

Don't forget to pop over to Glamore Cosmetics if you want this Hean, it's a real beaut!
