Friday Triad: Inspired by Paulina's Passions

It's that time of the month again... I can't believe how quickly this month has gone. Mind you, I have been working two weekends in a row and I'm getting ready for my third one. This month it was Michelle's turn  to choose our inspiration and she chose this mani done by @paulinaspassions

When I first saw it I was like 'What the hell is she thinking?', then I remembered we only have to be inspired and we don't have to recreate.... So let me show you what I did.

I started with two coats of 3ina 186 on my thumb, index and pinky. On my middle and ring finger I have two coats of Ulta3 black satin.
For the yellow flower I used Seche perfectly poised and my smallest dotting tool, I then made a smaller black dot in the middle with black satin. The hibiscus is stamped from Konad stamping plate 35 with Mundo de Unas orchid.
The leaves is from Lina Summer 3. I used the layerable images for this and stamped it with Mundo green, forest and avocado.
What do you think? I kinda like how this turned out. Somewhat similar to the original but totally different. I can't wait to see what the other two did. So do head on over to Michelle and Joyce to see how they interpreted it.

#52weeknailchallenge: stars

Finally a prompt that I actually had a plan for!! I've had the Glisten & Glow Dark and Delishious collection on my table for ages and I've been wanting to use it, but never had the ideal prompt. Until now. When I originally shared the polishes with our Secret Santa group, one of the ladies asked if it was a galaxy in a bottle (or at least something to that effect). So that for me meant stars.

I started with two coats of G&G cold hands. warm heart on my thumb, index finger and pinky. On my middle and ring finger I have one coat of Ulta3 black satin.
For the stars I used starry night vinyls from Becauseishop. I laid one on my miracle mat and painted a coat of OPI int'l crime caper over it. Removing the vinyl immediately, I then placed it again and used a scraper to flatten it and get rid of the excess polish. I then painted a coat of China Glaze let your twilight sparkle over it, removing the vinyl immediately.
Once it was dry I randomly added the stars to my nails, top coated and done.
What do you think? I was concerned when I bought this collection that I would have trouble capturing the colour shift. Since they all black based polishes, but so far I haven't had any trouble.

Secret Santa 2018

I always seem to be the last one to the party... And sharing my Secret Santa haul is no different, but then again, life sucks. Too much happening.

Anyway, you know how I always mention this Secret Santa group I'm part of? Let me introduce them!

Michelle - @ordinarymisfit
Heather - @tehillaleah
Melliska - @madmel1119
Briget - @brigetdotdot the owner of becauseishop
Thea - @madness_nails
Angela - @angelas.nailz
And last but not least Renita - @polish_portfolio the creator of the 52 week nail challenge!

This year my Santa was Thea and I was in awe of the effort that went into my box! It was all gaming inspired! Let me start the tour....

I absolutely adore the piranha plant and the Moomin sanitiser.... It's such a throw back to my childhood.

I'm intrigued by this peach hand cream and I've had my eye on that essence for a long time!

Don't you just love this!!

Ava and Funhouse!! This had me very excited!

I was absolutely blown away by my health and mana "potions"!!  The mana is mints and I've noticed some missing the other day, so I asked BF is he's been stealing my mana and the guy knew what I meant! And that's one of the reasons why I love him.

And like that my game was over! But the ride was so much fun!!!

Thank you so so much T!! I just loved this, you totally nailed it.

I was going to share some art, but since this post is so pic heavy, I'll share it in a separate post.

Thanks so much for joining my GAME!

#52weeknailchallenge: pastel

Another prompt I had no idea what or how I was going to do it. I decided to have a look through my decals hoping I would find something that would inspire me. And I did.

I started with three coats of Hean 879 on my ring finger and pinky. On my thumb I have three coats of Hean 225 from the summer collection.
On my index and middle finger I placed some full nail decals I got from Aliexpress. I tried to match the colours to the decal as best I could, but I feel the green is a little out of place. Even though there is a little green in the decal. 879 is stunning though.
Another easy no fuss mani.
What do you think? Should I have dropped the green?

Thanks for stopping by!

#52weeknailchallenge: stripes

I'm not good at stripes... Or anything straight. So I had no idea what to do for this prompt. I did come across this mani by @juli_addicted, when I was looking for inspiration for a Triad post. And I think it kind of counts as stripes.

I started with two coats of 3ina 185 on my thumb, index finger and pinky.
On my middle and ring finger I did the lines with a nailart brush and Ulta3 blue marlin and palette play.
Top coated and that was it.
What do you think? I obviously do the original no justice, but I kinda like how this turned out.

Thanks for reading.

#52weeknailchallenge: orange + yellow

For this prompt I was inspired by this tutorial of @liliumzz. So I sat down and started and ended up with this...
Which is NOT what I wanted! It looks like I marbled with a yellow and orange polish and done. Not like a white base with jelly polishes marbled over it. Not like the original. So I redid it.

I started with 3 coats of Tip Top sunkissed on my pinky. On my middle and ring finger I have one coat of Ulta3 black satin. I love a one coat black, they so exciting!😉 On my thumb and index finger I have two coats of 3ina 155.
I then stamped a lacey design from BP-L028 with Nicole Diary white stamping polish.
For the marble I used Essence morning sunshine and Tip Top summer secret. I didn't get the spread that the original has, so I decided to try and do a marble design. It doesn't show up that well, but zooming might help. (pls don't zoom)
Anyway, what do you think? Yellow is not my favourite colour. Maybe because I don't have a nice one. I mean 3 coats for opacity... on my pinky. I ain't got time for that! But how pretty is that 3ina polish. I'm quite impressed with the ones I've used so far. And I do have more coming your way.
